I wanted the old LearnDB lookup back, so I rebuilt it at learndb.dev.
I kept the original design and added results as you type, DCSS tiles, and the “Gretell says…” monster stats. Looking up Sigmund shows the stats and LearnDB entries together. It works on mobile too.
Monster queries support DCSS 0.31–0.34 and a dated trunk build, using Crawl’s own utility. Custom equipment, enchantment, and spell queries work too. For example, try orc ; crystal plate armour plus:14.
The LearnDB text is a snapshot from August 14, 2026. Trunk updates are manual for now, and the utility’s damage field excludes weapon damage.
I’ve linked the original sources and contributors in the credits, along with gammafunk’s explanation of the hosting change. I understand the original frontend may return.
I also shared this on Reddit, where someone raised a question about reuse of the LearnDB text. I couldn’t find a license for it, so I’d appreciate guidance from anyone familiar with how it’s maintained.
