ok but things like for example "GrEE^Ash cause that’s the main thing that’s confusing and I have no idea what it means
Those are abbreviated character combos. 2 letters for species + 2 letters for background + ^ + God.
GrEE^Ash is gargoyle earth elementalist of ashenzari. The species/background abbreviations are used by the game but rarely. You can see them in the High Scores list for example. Mostly they are displayed in and used for chat bot commands and the abbreviations are very common in the community.
It… is confusing for new players and I still mix up some of them or have to stop and think (I see Wr and think “Wanderer”, forgetting that Warper is a thing). Note that de, fe, re, and hu are both species AND backgrounds, though sometimes with different capitalization.

There’s only 1 god per letter of the alphabet so it’s pretty easy to interpret god abbreviations. The exception is “The Shining One” that is represented by 1 in-game or more commonly “TSO” by players. The T god is Trog.

First two characters are an abbreviation for the character’s species (in your example “Gr” for Gargoyle), next two for starting job (“EE” for Earth Elementalist), then after the caret is the deity (Ashenzari).
