Greed is an auful thing!

I’ve decided to to the fire cave. It’s been alright, except of course, the fire draconian. I should have run away when I saw him but I wanted to see what was in the cave. I won but I should have left.

Now fate has laughed in my face: an obsidian statue. Who told me to make an alchemist instead of a conjuror? But I wanted a change and a djinni alchemist is pretty strong because he has access to poison and fire.

Am I right to think there is absolutely nothing I can do?

Would your spell list not be relevant for that question?
And your list of evokables, evocations training, consumables…
Going Berserk could be an option, though I don’t know how good of an option it’d be.

With only Will+ it would certainly be very risky, but I’m like you, always taking risks I shouldn’t.

I see you haven’t found any good evokables yet, and your spells are rather hard-countered.

I think you could probably kill the obsidian statue, but to make it even remotely safe you’d need to use more consumables than the value of what he’s likely to guard.

I think the scroll of --fog-- poison could be used to --fog-- poison everything in LOS before the statue even summons which would kill some of its summons quickly, !enlightenment would make is safer by making it harder to get charmed, and because you don’t have applicable spells, you’d have to rely on melee. A +10 dagger is pretty decent, but might need !might and/or !haste to be good enough.

Could you blink past it? Probably still wouldn’t be worth it, but you have 5 ?blink, I’d be curious, and maybe do it out of shear stubbornness.

This is probably a garbage suggestion but you could try might + haste, blink close, summoning, and bash away with your allies. Summoning can pull some impressively strong monsters from the same depth that you read it on.

I don’t think silence works on statues but if it does of course, would be great once you summon.

My suggestion is never go to Volcano, even as a DjCj. Volcano has many strong mobs(pack of salamanders, molten gargoyles and so on). I would go Icecave even as Dj with certain spellset, but not Volcano.
