Hi guys and gals. Brand new to this game, found it four days ago and am OBESSED Lmao. First and foremost thank you to whoever designed, built and upkeeps this FREE and AD FREE platform. You are superstars. This game should win some kind of award. No flashy graphics, no massive hardware restrictions, nothing but frustrating, heart pounding, head wrenching FUN!. I started 4 days ago and have not left my computer. I am old so winter is not my friend… One can only do so many escape games before they become repetitive pixel hunting. Then I stumble on Stone Soup. WOW! It is frustrating as hell and yet addictive. I read a lot about “hard” early enemies like asps or vipers. Not sure what game they are playing. I started on Dwarf-warrior and finally settled on Mi-Be. I was getting so frustrated I could only make it to level 10-14 ( not including orc mines and such…thinking it was 100 levels as I had read.) Then I read 15 levels to a dungeon. Now I am trying to get to Lair and orc mine and go… My highest in 4 days is level 14 dungeon without branches. Tonight I hit the CRAZIEST hard dungeon I have faced… I mean nuts from level 5 on… Level 5 was three entrances, 3 rooms and every monster in the dungeon beside the staircase lmao. 0 axe, o chain mail, one ring and almost zero scrolls and potions. I gained three levels jumping stairs lol. I made it to level 2 of Lair, killed a 7 headed hydra with two strokes and then got kill by a pig starting level 3. A PIG! It’s only a pig barely in my range of sight, I will use a boomerang… all hell broke loose. Transmutation turned into a pig and surrounded… roflmao. Every time I get to high level, or lair, or mines… something new I have no idea what to do. I was so careful first two levels step by step always watching, then killed by a pig lol. The good part is I have learned how to kill at least MOST of the ones that gave me trouble in the past. Not sure if anyone has tried this but I love POISON scrolls. Multiple foes… throw out poison kill the close ones and then just switch back and forth between my best weapons or use boomerangs until they kill themselves. Thanks for the welcome! I am beside myself right now. I have been playing for a week and I just finished Lair 4 and am loaded for bear. I wish I had more gold because there is a shop on level one with a massive plate mail. I know lair is not supposed to be that hard, but it is I find without magic. Mi-Be. Level 10 now and going to try lair 5. I hear it is a beast.
Thanks so much. Is anybody as big of an idiot as I am? My biggest fault here is forgetting it is turn based. Been playing a week. Made it to dungeon 11 this time, finished lair. Came back and went to twelve. All this time I went so slow… got to twelve. Some slimes and an invisible… didn’t count how many times the slime joined, stair climbed with slime and started whacking away, eager to get back down, meantime my hp are dropping like flies around me. I was loaded for bear, tons of scrolls and potions and 122 hp… gone in about 5 seconds. What a dork!
Yeah, this happens to me a lot. I tend to play faster than I should. But each death is an opportunity to see what a new character brings me. I’ve won probably 80 times or something but the first 10 or so levels of the game I think are the best because your character is evolving so quickly.
