I know server games are recorded using .ttyrec files, but I have no Idea how to use those recordings. Any help? Thanks
There are a few tools; the one I use is Simon “PuTTY” Tatham’s ipbt: IPBT: a high-tech ttyrec player for Unix
If you’re on Windows it probably works under WSL.
I’ve used dcsstv in the past to watch good players play things I didn’t understand.
It worked really well.
You can access clips or full games with Sequell queries too! This is really nice if you’re already familiar with listgame/listmilestone commands. Like if you wanted to see your last vaults rune get you could do !lm . br=vaults rune -tv
and the bot will give you a link to watch your game! This applies to any bot that relays commands to Sequell (cerebot/beem/etc) More details in the link above.
Keep in mind some servers don’t record ttyrecs. CAO only records console ttyrecs, not webtiles games. CDI and CNC has downloadable ttyrecs but you can’t access them with footv (yet). I think CNC also has a way to play ttyrecs on its website?
