What is everyone’s opinion on anti magic weapons? I’ve never really used them much and they seem underwhelming if all they do is decrease enemy spell chance by some minor percent? What do you think?
Antimagic is great against dangerous spellcasters. Of course, you probably want to have some other brand for your primary weapon and use antimagic as a switch.

but why exactly is it good? The wiki seems to indicate a % drop chance in their casting vs a time out for a certain number of turns. Consider many casters can drop in a few rounds what do you see is the advantage vs more damage brands?
It actually makes enemy spellcasters fail most of the time. Wiki says:
Weapons of antimagic inflict damage×8/(HD+1) turns of the antimagic status.
Monsters have a duration/(4 + duration) (in decaAut) chance to fail, wasting their turn.
So if your damage output is decent, the fail chance becomes quite high even for monsters with high HD.
And, of course, if the enemy wastes their turn failing a spell, you take zero damage instead of getting a crystal spear in your face.
