There’s of course situational stuff like rC and rP, but what would you generally wear and why? I’m a noob and trying to get a handle on these things.
Slay and protection are generally good. Dexterity is great when your Dodging skill is high (it becomes a better Evasion ring). Poison resistance is worth keeping on in some branches like Snake and Spider. It also enables you to use scrolls of poison and Mephitic Cloud as clouds-on-demand.
Probably keep slaying and then either protection or evasion instead of dex. If I was spamming a lot of spells maybe int over dex.
I am a fan of dex in this scenario, because it grants EV, damage, and accuracy. But you need to check in the character screen whether it’s worth it. Viewing the ring tells you how much EV it grants. @ tells you how much damage. I don’t know how to view how much accuracy it grants.
You can xv the same enemy before and after wearing the ring and see how your chance of hitting it changes to gauge accuracy changes. It’s a bit clumsy.
I find the plain +6 Dex rings to be a really good wear on any kind of dex character. They increase your damage per hit and accuracy (it’s roughly on par with +4 slay for weapons with decent base damage), SH if you’re wearing a shield, stealth and evasion all at once. both offensive and defensive. it’s so much value that most artifact rings aren’t that attractive :D wearing a pair of plain +6 dexterity rings for most of the run and only swapping resistances when needed is what happens for me a lot of the time
