I went into this game aiming to get to a colourful dragon form, so picked DrAr, and accepted a faded altar which gave me Hep. I took the Hexer ancestor because I don’t like the Knight until he gets his cleaving axe, and because I’ve played with the Mage often enough. I ended up with the rather unfortunate anti-synergy of a Hexer ally and Dispelling Energy breath. But I do now get a very valuable resist (Will+ at XL 17), and improved spellcasting, hexing and evocables aptitudes. No talismans yet, and the best weapon I’ve found is a longbow.
