As you read the scroll labelled GOSKAO UFUMI, it crumbles to dust.
You feel strangely unstable. It was a scroll of teleportation.
The +2 broad axe of electrocution hits you!
The +3 glaive of speed hits you from afar!
Ouch! That really hurt!
You die…
Dang. Abandoning any god on D3 is pretty much going to get you killed though.
no, I’ve done it somewhat regularly back when faded altars were more properly random.
I think Gozag was pretty manageable, and the one that put down clouds of miasma was too (at least if you were a gargoyle).
But the gods that summon monsters as wrath don’t seem to have anything that’s scaled down far enough to be survivable on D:3.
sif, veh, nemelex, ash, usk, ru are relatively abandonable in my experience
Well Ru is a bit of a special case, in that abandoning it is free if you haven’t yet taken any sacrifices; in fact, it’s tedious-optimal to always sign up with Ru if you’re deity-less and not a monk, just in case it offers the perfect sacrifice before you find a more appealing altar.
