Started as a deep elf conjurer. Was in big open room with only a single exit in a long straight corridor. Blocked by a gnoll armed with a spear. The gnoll ate 7 of my magic darts but that only brought it down to roughly 1/4 of its hitpoints. Game over at 0 high score points :-)

We should normalize posts like this. I have so many deaths but almost never post about them lol.
If there was no clear escape route then nothing one can do.
One can only leave or bet at the starting potion.
Years ago players could begin as Abyssal Knight. They started worshipping Lugonu and were generated in the abyss.
One unlucky char was generated right above lava and immediately sank into it. In those times this meant instant death.
Died in turn 0, this is still the world record for the shortest game ever :-)
The player posted this in the old tavern and said he was rolling on the floor laughing.
