Very fun Djinn game. Picked Ely early and repeatedly got unusable spells. Mcloud put incredible work, including killing Rupert by drowning, and for all the way to S branches we were still killing things with mercury arrow. But after we got starbust well into our second S branch things were very smooth. First time winning Ely and it is so good on a Djinn, we loved it. Level 9 spells were Chain lightning and Polar Vortex, and after that point it was smooth sailing! Impressed at our ability to cast those in ice dragon armor.

From your complete lack of weapon skills I assume you killed almost everything with magic? I haven’t played much with djinns but I didn’t know this was a possible or reasonable way to play them. How do you manage your HPs to make that work?
Ely allows that! If you use a lot of efficient low level spells and pick your fights reasonably well, ely healing and regen gets you there. We healed a lot. Mcloud and cactus were our bread and butter for a long time. If your spells are less efficient, or if you need to spam higher level ones, you probably need a weapon.
(Edit: a good part of that was having PVortex as a level 9 spell, one cast does a lot with it, by the time you can cast again you’re already regen’d. Besides, having good defenses on average means you don’t lose as much health besides casting)
