This victory was remarkable for me for two reasons: First, it’s been a long time since I last streaked victories, but now I managed to do it (following my latest ReDe win). Secondly, I don’t think I’ve ever won with a level 25 character.
No altars were found until the Temple on D:6. Almost all gods were there, so the options were plentiful. As I really wanted to streak this, I went with my most comfortable god for a 3-run win: Gozag.
I called only 2 merchants but there were 28 other shops in the game. I wanted to spare 6000 gold for bribing Zot so I had to leave a lot of stuff in shops.
The demonspawn mutations were great: ignite blood, powered by death, robust, sharp scales, demonic touch.
My main weapon for the whole game was found in a D:9 Necropolis where I only entered one of the vaults.
I showed great mental strength when I stayed out of a D:11 Ice Cave as I had no rC and didn’t was to risk my possible streak.
Spell-wise, I first relied on forgecraft, then expanded for conjurations. Blazeheart Golem with Rending Blade was quite effective. Freezing cloud was used for crowd control and OoD for the biggest threats.
There was a completely useless armour Trove. It asked for a +7 demon trident and I only had to spend one ?EW to get it, but none of the pieces of armour inside were useful for me. Sure, there were the best gloves I’ve ever seen (+5 pair of gloves “Ommit” {rF+ Will+ rCorr}), but I couldn’t wear gloves…
Parghit was on Zot:3. I attacked it a few times but eventually decided that it was a waste of time and resources. I just didn’t have enough burst damage.
Doing Zot without any rF gear on was quite rear for me.
Only one hobgoblin killed.
My 111th victory. For some reason I’m quite bad with Demonspawn, they are my 24th ranked species with 6/48=13% wins. On the other hand, Monk is my 9th best background with 7/41=17% wins. Overall, my win% is 111/936=12%.
