Please remove Delver, it serves no purpose in the game and doesn’t make any sense story-wise.
So I dislike Delver but still, it was time to play a Revenant Delver for the first time. I was lucky to make it into D:1 and start the game properly. Xom was on D:2 but I said no thanks. Chei was the second god found, on D:4, and I said what the hell. I’m usually bad with Chei but this time I somehow managed to win.
This was probably the first time I cleared all vaults in a Necropolis.
There was the Amulet of Vitality in a shop, but I was massively short of gold (it cost 1800 and I had 130 in the end).
I decided that this character should memorize Manifold Assault. So I did and started training for it really late. And cast it a total of 1 time. Which reminds me of the fact that I used Enkindle a total of 1 time.
Speaking of Chei, I slouched 48 times but used none of the other Chei abilities…
The first try at the Abyssal rune took 599 turns, then I exited and healed up and went back in. After 468 turns I exited again, healed up and went back in. 195 turns more and I exited with the rune. I don’t remember the last time I fetched the Abyssal rune without Apportation.
After 5 runes I contemplated on getting more and even did some Tomb, but this character was not really built for extended, even though I had excellent resists. My spells where all over the place.
Zot:5 was very generous with only one OoF. Also, the way up was surpisingly smooth. I was prepared for lots and lots of fighting due to Chei slowness, but it was quite ok. One seraph and one Pan lord where the major opponents.
Only one white imp killed.
My 110th victory, first ReDe played. Revenant shares the top spot on my species list with 2/3=67% wins (gnoll is 6/9). Delver is my 11th best background with 3/20=15% wins. Overall, my win rate is 110/935=12%.
