They should add martial arts to the ability menu like when the player gets 3 unarmed they get kick does 5% more base damage then your punch. On unarmed 6 you get trip which does very low damage but downs the enemy for 2 turns. On unarmed 9 kick gets upgraded to push kick which pushes the enemy back two tiles and does 10% extra damage. And on unarmed 11 trip gets upgraded to leg sweep which does more damage but still not more than your punch and will down the enemy for 3 turns. And maybe on unarmed 7 you can get eye strike which blinds the enemy for 2 turns and you ALSO get the ability elbow strike which does 15% extra damage. Each of these abilities has a cooldown leg sweep trip kick ect are all kick abilities so you get a cooldown for kick abilities lasting 4 turns and you can’t use them until the cooldown is over and same goes for abilities that use your arms eye strike and elbow strike both cause the punch cooldown which lasts 3 turns and you can’t use any abilities that use your arms during that.

I see three difficulties here:

Unarmed already goes from being weak at low skill to strong at high skill. This would make that even more so.

Most players don’t want to be using the ability menu every other turn in combat. This would be incredibly fiddly compared to attacking normally.

With every other kind of melee, you tell the character “hurt the opponent” and the details are left up to the character. Why should unarmed be different?

you can still use the normal attack thing i just wanted it so that you could have special attacks that could stun push or down the enemy maybe it does a random special attack every other turn when you attack normally?

I mean, you’re kinda just describing the benefits of WJC too.

well i didnt want unarmed fighters to have join WJC to get any special unarmed moves

Maybe more reasonable would be baubles that change attack effects, like maybe a bauble that turns the player into a trample rampage boar.
