The Bombardier Beetle appears to be bit unbalanced

It’s now the second time that I got fried very early in the game by the new bombardier beetle. This one got a shot at me from far away, and I couldn’t really avoid it, so I had to close in. By the time it was dead, I was down to about half of my max health of 56, and I was on fire. I hoped to sit it out, as no monster was close by, but when I approached zero health, I quickly popped a potion of heal wounds. That wasn’t quite enough, so I had to pop my second and final potion of heal wounds. Then zero health approached again, and the two potions I still had time to blindly drink didn’t save me.

No monster on D5 should be allowed to give you a damage-over-time status that just like that defeats two potions of heal wounds. Not if the developers want people to have some enjoyment of this game.

A bombardier beetle.

An unassuming beetle filled with an incredible amount of hypergolic fluid. The
sticky spray it fires is capable of igniting predators and unwary adventurers
alike, though more experienced ones know to keep moving if they wish to avoid a
fiery grave.

Thanks, Rypo, that is the information I did not look up in time.
I guess next time I will be one of the “experienced ones”. I only ever get there the hard way, it seems…

I learned this the hard way as well.

I do think that the early layers of the d are a bit harder than 0.30. The new worms are also a pain if you happen to get one of them + something else at the same time. And Beetles are hard even knowing that trick. I’ve killed so many mummies lately…

Beetles are quite slow and their range for Sticky Flame is 5. You don’t have to fight them, if you don’t have the tools.
